The latest issue of Built America Magazine is now live. This special edition explores one of the fastest-evolving sectors in construction: modular and offsite building.
America's housing crisis calls for every tool in the belt, and modular construction is one worth understanding.
This Modular Movement Edition was inspired by the World of Modular Expo in Las Vegas last April, where MBI and MHBA continued their mission of educating the industry on what modern modular can do. Not to replace traditional building, but to expand what's possible.
At Built America Magazine, we're here to bridge that conversation. Because solving the housing crisis takes all of us.
Produced in partnership with the Modular Building Institute (MBI) and the Modular Home Builders Association (MHBA), this edition brings together the builders, manufacturers, designers, and industry leaders redefining how homes, communities, and opportunities are built. It also features industry insight from the American Building Materials Alliance (ABMA) and a new column, “Built on Trust,” by Leah Fellows of Blue Gypsy Inc.

Inside this edition:

Plus other innovators and partner organizations supporting the featured companies and shaping the future of modular construction and offsite development.
This issue goes beyond company features. It offers a forward-looking examination of the ideas, systems, partnerships, and technologies driving a major shift within the built environment. As housing demand, labor shortages, affordability concerns, and sustainability pressures continue to challenge the industry, the organizations featured here are leading the conversation about what comes next.
This is not simply about building faster. It’s about building smarter, more accessible, and better prepared for the future of modern construction.
We hope you enjoy exploring The Modular Movement Edition.
