Elavate Modular: A Company Built on Purpose
When Built America Magazine set out to publish our landmark Modular Movement Issue, a 164-page celebration of the industry's most innovative builders, one company rose above the rest to claim both our Editor's Pick and our cover: Elavate Modular, based in Albany, Oregon.
Known previously as Fidelity Builders Inc., Elavate Modular has spent the last five years redefining what custom modular home building can be. Their reputation for quality, client care, and innovation made them an easy choice for our team, though getting their General Manager, Randy Rothweiler, on the phone was another story altogether.
When we first reached out in March, Randy was in the middle of a robotics competition with local students. It took a full week before we finally connected, a small detail that says a lot about the kind of person he is.
Why Elavate Modular Earned 20 Pages
Every company we feature in Built America Magazine receives a standard 8 to 10 pages. Elavate Modular received 20, double our usual allocation, and a first for our publication. That decision didn't come lightly. When Randy asked why his company was chosen, we were candid: we don't pick construction companies at random. We have standards. What made Elavate Modular stand out was not just the quality of their homes, but the way they build them.

They collaborate closely with architects and engineers, guide clients through every stage of the process, and keep homeowners informed throughout construction, sending photos of progress, staying connected from groundbreaking to final finishing touches.
That level of intentional care is rare in this industry.
That philosophy, choosing depth over speed, relationships over volume, is exactly what the modular movement needs more of right now.
Proven by the Numbers
Elavate Modular's BuildZoom score of 95 places them in the top 22% of 62,733 licensed contractors across Oregon, an objective measure that reflects years of consistent, high-quality work. On Trustindex, they hold a 4.5 out of 5 rating, with reviewers consistently praising their customer service.
What makes those numbers meaningful is what drives them: Elavate Modular doesn't just deliver a project and move on. They maintain strong after-sales relationships with their clients, a practice that is increasingly rare in an industry where many companies are driven purely by margins. They simply don't cut corners. As Randy put it plainly:
Industry-Leading Suppliers by Their Side
One of the most telling signs of a company's character is who chooses to stand beside them. Elavate Modular's supplier partners were not only supportive of being featured alongside them in our Modular Movement Issue, but they also spoke about Elavate with genuine pride and respect. The following suppliers joined Elavate Modular in our May 2026 issue:
Elavate Modular: A Pioneer in Prefabricated Living
Elavate Modular, formerly Fidelity Builders, has long been recognized as a forward-thinking force in prefabricated home construction. New Source Home notes that as a pioneer in prefabricated homes, Fidelity Builders is committed to remaining at the forefront of design and construction innovation.
Through advanced building techniques and materials, the company creates homes that integrate seamlessly with the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest while also delivering strong energy efficiency and sustainability. That spirit of innovation and regional harmony continues under the Elavate Modular name today.
Their reputation for not just meeting but exceeding client expectations, in both design and construction, has followed them through every chapter of their growth.
From Quality to Customer Care: The Full Picture
When you look at Elavate Modular as a whole, the quality of their materials, their commitment to innovation and precision, and the depth of their customer relationships, the question isn't why we chose them. It's why anyone wouldn't.
They are exactly what Built America Magazine looks for: a company doing the work right, with care for the people they serve and respect for the industry they're a part of. In a modular movement that needs more builders of this caliber, Elavate Modular isn't just keeping up, they're setting the standard.
Meet the Team Behind Elavate Modular
Elavate Modular is a builder of custom, architect-designed, factory-built modular homes headquartered in Oregon's Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest.
The company was founded in 2012 in Albany, Oregon by brothers Duane, Steve, Larry, and Daryl Knox, a family with more than 35 years of hands-on experience in residential construction. Recognizing the growing advancements and advantages of prefabricated building, they established Elavate Modular to meet an emerging demand for high-quality, custom-designed homes built with the efficiency and precision of factory construction. Elavate delivered its first completed modular home in the fall of 2013.
By the close of 2025, Elavate had completed 47 residential homes ranging from 1,000 to more than 5,000 square feet, and no two have ever been built to the same design.
Elavate Modular Team & Commitment to Quality
The foundation of Elavate's reputation is the skill of our experienced craftsmen and an unwavering commitment to quality construction. Elavate's build process follows a rigorous quality control program approved by the State of California, designed to ensure our homes meet and exceed the same building standards required of traditional on-site residential construction.
Randy Rothweiler, General Manager, joined Elavate in 2017 bringing more than 24 years of residential construction experience. Randy oversees all systems management, profit and loss, customer relations, new client development, and marketing, ensuring the company runs with both operational excellence and a strong client-first focus.
Kurtis Don, Production Manager, brings over 20 years of residential construction experience to the role. Kurtis oversees production and project management, ensuring every home reflects the quality craftsmanship and scheduling standards Elavate is known for. Kurtis serves as the primary point of contact for subcontractors, engineers, and designers, while maintaining direct communication with homeowners throughout every stage of their project.
